At MSDA, we use only virgin PP+GF—never recycled material—for our chair structures. With a 1300-ton clamping force, one of the highest in the industry, we mold large, complex, high-strength parts in a single shot. That means no assembly welds, no weak joints, and a stronger, more reliable chair overall.

Five Steps from Pellet to Part

Every plastic component follows MSDA's standardized 5-step injection process,from mold preparation and material dosing to final quality check,ensuring consistency across every batch.

Mold & Material Prep
Check the condition of the mold, move it to the side of the machine, and connect the cooling water nozzle. Collect, blend, and color-match the materials one day in advance; dry them 2–4 hours ahead of time according to the material specifications, and ensure a continuous supply of materials during mass production. Our company uses brand-new PP, PA, and TPU materials to produce chair backs, chair legs, and backrest trim panels, among other components.

Machine Setup
Preheat the machine 30 minutes in advance and verify all functions, including ejector pins, beforehand. Lower the mold using the crane, adjust the mold, and install the clamping plate.

Trial Run
Perform a slow mold opening inspection; check water and oil lines; inspect core pull and mold temperature systems. Clean the mold parting line; apply lubricant to guide pins and slide blocks; apply lubricant to ejector pin springs. Prepare and clean the feed tubes.

Mass Production
Conduct strength testing on the first part; perform backrest push tests and armrest horizontal tensile tests in accordance with U.S. BIFMA standards. Optimize process parameters and record them. Perform regular equipment maintenance and keep records; clean and lubricate molds regularly.

Mold Change
Close the hopper gate in advance. Prepare the next mold and tools to be used in advance. Clean the mold surface and apply rust inhibitor; close the mold and blow out any water to prevent rust. Dismantle the mold and return it to the warehouse.

 Raw Materials

We never use recycled PP. Every PP part starts with virgin, glass-fiber-reinforced engineering resin—chosen for impact strength, dimensional stability, and long-term fatigue resistance.

PP+GF

Polypropylene + Glass Fiber 

The mostly used materials of MSDA chairs, lightweight, dimensionally stable, and highly resistant to fatigue, ideal for large structural parts such as backrest frames.

Use: Backrest frames, seat shells, headrests, armrest tops

PA+GF

Nylon + Glass Fiber

A higher-strength, higher-heat engineering plastic. Used for parts that must withstand repeated impact and heavy static loads—especially five-star bases.

 Use:Five-star bases, mechanical chassis covers, structural hubs

Feature:Higher impact strength and heat resistance than PP

TPU

Thermoplastic Polyurethane

A high-performance polymer that combines the elasticity of rubber with the processing advantages of plastics. TPU is softer and provides a "skin-like" tactile experience, making it a popular choice for ergonomic office chair 3D armrests.

 Use:Armrests pads, elastic backrests

Q: Why do MSDA chairs use PP+GF instead of regular PP or ABS?
A: Adding glass fiber (GF) to polypropylene dramatically increases its stiffness, impact strength, and heat resistance—while keeping the part lightweight. For structural parts like backrests and bases, PP+GF gives us performance close to engineering plastics (such as PA) at a much lower cost. ABS is reserved for decorative parts where surface finish matters more than load.

Q: Can you mold parts with custom colors ?
A: Yes. We offer a wide color range (RAL or Pantone matching) and several surface textures—matte, satin, wood-grain, and fine leather-grain. Custom color or texture requests are subject to a small batch fee and longer lead time for color-master-batch preparation.

Q: What is the typical MOQ for injection-molded parts?
A: For standard parts using existing molds, MOQ starts at 100 pieces per color. For new molds, MOQ is typically 500–1,000 pieces to justify tooling cost. Our ERP system and in-house mold workshop let us quote and deliver small trial orders within 15–20 working days.

Q: Do you offer OEM/ODM tooling for new designs?
A: Yes. Our in-house mold workshop handles the full cycle—from 3D design review and DFM analysis to T0 sample production. We protect customer IP with strict confidentiality agreements and segregated mold storage. Typical mold lead time is 3-6 months for parts up to 1,300-ton clamp.

Q: How do you ensure consistent quality across batches?
A: Every batch is run through a documented IPQC (In-Process Quality Control) checklist—including first-piece approval, in-cycle dimension sampling, and end-of-batch mechanical tests. We also retain production samples for traceability. All raw-material batches are accompanied by supplier certificates.

Q: What certifications do your plastic parts meet?
A: MSDA is ISO 9001 certified at the company level. Our plastic components are tested in the final chair product in accordance with BIFMA X5.1, EN 1335, and QB/T 2280-2016. Individual test reports can be provided per project.
